POLICE RACE FOR A CURE — THE CALL WITH NO ADDRESS

An officer's whole job is answering calls — an address, a door, a problem that can be faced standing up. Cancer is the one call with no address. No door to knock on, nobody to order out. It moves quietly into the happiest houses on the beat and answers to no one.

That is what this design stands for: the badge answering anyway. The race for a cure is protection doing what protection does when it cannot make an arrest — showing up in force, in pink, on foot, mile after mile, until the research catches up with the threat.

Hope, faith, courage, strength. Officers know those words from the street. In this race they are aimed at the families and fellow officers whose fight begins in a doctor's office — and at the promise that nobody under their watch faces that fight alone.

Wear it for the officers who run, for the families they run for, and for everyone in the middle of the fight tonight. Wear it because the people sworn to protect a community do not clock out on the one enemy that comes for it quietly.
